Tools Mastery
November 2023
In the realm of craftsmanship, there lies a subtle anxiety, a kindling unease, about the mastery or rather the lack thereof, of one's tools. This concern isn't just superficial. It's rooted in a deeper, more philosophical apprehension: am I wielding the right tool? Could there be a tool out there, unknown to me, that could not just simplify my task but elevate it? This isn't just about efficiency; it's about the potential pain and struggle, unwittingly self-inflicted, due to a gap in knowledge or a shortfall in experience.
This desire to deeply understand—to truly "grok"—the tools at my disposal, as well as those that might come into play in the future, is more than a mere wish. It's a pursuit of harmony, a quest for a seamless integration with the instruments of my craft. In this journey, every tool becomes not just an extension of the hand, but an extension of the mind, opening new avenues for exploration and innovation.
