Don't Be a Manager. Be a Playmaker.

World Cup 2022 confirmed my belief that Messi is truly the greatest of all time (GOAT) player in the game of soccer. As I watched him play and learned more about his career, I was struck by his ability to adapt and evolve his style of play over the years. In his early days, he was known for his speed, agility, and magical ball handling skills.

But as he got older, he developed a different approach, using his experience and intelligence to create opportunities for his teammates. He still scores when needed, but his focus has shifted to being a playmaker. This adaptability has allowed him to continue to excel as a player, even leading Argentina to win the World Cup and setting numerous records.

Like Messi, I want to be a playmaker in my own career. Just like Messi, I want to hone my raw technical skills to the highest level of excellence. However, the idea of climbing the managerial ladder has never appealed to me. The fear of losing touch with my craft and being stuck in meetings has always been a deterrent. Watching Messi evolve gave me inspiration to not only be an excellent technician, constantly seeking out opportunities to improve and adapt my skills, but also to be an effective leader, inspiring others to excel and reach their full potential.

Don't be a manager. Be a playmaker.
